Chili Chowder Challenge Cancellation Notice
With evolving concerns regarding the COVID-19 situation in mind and, in an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel this year’s Chili Chowder Challenge on March 28th.
This long-standing community tradition succeeds based on the good will of many local restaurants and Children’s Center supporters. In an effort to be good stewards of their kindness, we believe making this proactive decision is prudent as it prevents participating restaurants from investing in product that may ultimately go to waste should attendance be low or the Center for Disease Control recommend avoidance of mass gatherings in the weeks ahead. The health of our children, families and community at large are always a top priority for us and this is one way we can help care for you regardless of how you’re affiliated with the Chili Chowder Challenge.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we share this tough decision. We are particularly grateful to our sponsors that have been incredibly understanding and encouraged their dollars to be put to best use in service to the Center which we most certainly will do! Thank you!
Support of the Center is still needed and makes a lasting impact on the lives of very special little people. If you’d like to make a donation in lieu of attending this annual event, please visit www.childrensctr.org/make-a-gift/. Our kids appreciate your support!
As we navigate flu season and with COVID-19 in mind, we encourage everyone to take the recommended precautions for any illness – cover your sneezes and coughs and wash your hands often and thoroughly.
The Children’s Center is excited to share that we raised approximately $35,000 from our 18th Annual Chili Chowder Challenge. Thank you again to our sponsors, restaurants, donors, guests, and volunteers for making the event a huge success!
