Behavioral Health Professional (BHP)- Augusta

The Children’s Center is currently hiring BHPs for year round, academic year, and Summer 2024 substitute positions.

Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young children and their families? The Children’s Center is an early intervention and family support organization with services for children ages birth through 21 years. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love working to support children in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

The BHP will work in one of a variety of specialized and inclusive programs providing one-on-one support to children ages 3-5 with a wide variety of special needs and developmental delays. Staff in this position conduct one-on-one or small group instruction, perform classroom management, and complete daily data collection and documentation. And the best part? Playing is the name of the game! Children learn best through play, so all classroom therapeutic interventions use play-based strategies. Who doesn’t want to play all day?!

Behavioral Health Professional (BHP)/Educational Technician III – Augusta & Farmington Sites

The Children’s Center is currently hiring BHP/Ed Tech IIIs for year-round, academic year, and Summer 2024 substitute positions.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love working to support children in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

The BHP/Ed Tech III will work with a Master’s level Clinician and special education team in a Day Treatment program for children ages 3 to 5 years old. Staff in this position conduct one-on-one or small group instruction, perform classroom management, and complete daily data collection and documentation. And the best part? Playing is the name of the game! Children learn best through play, so all classroom therapeutic interventions use play-based strategies. Who doesn’t want to play all day?!

This position requires flexibility to work at various sites of the Center. The individual will have a “home-site” assigned to them. On days that coverage is provided at a site other than the assigned home-site, the individual will receive a 5%-per-hour increase for hours worked; mileage over what you normally travel to your home-site will be reimbursed.

Applicants must provide documentation that they have at least 90 college credit hours and have or be eligible for Maine Department of Education certification as an Educational Technician III. It is essential, as part of this multi-disciplinary team, to have a positive attitude, high energy level and the ability to think creatively. Children’s Center provides BHP training, CPR/First Aid and Safety Care certification, and Master’s level clinical supervision.

Special Purpose Private School Teacher – Augusta

The Children’s Center is currently hiring Special Purpose Private School Teachers for year-round, academic year, and Summer 2024 substitute positions.

Interested in making a difference in the lives of young elementary school age children? The Children’s Center is seeking a Special Purpose Private School Teacher to work one on one with children in grades K-3 who are not yet ready to enter public school. Daily activities are focused on their behavioral and communication needs, independence skills, and academic goals specialized for each child in accordance with their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.

The Special Purpose Private School Teacher will work with a Master’s level Clinician and Special Education team in the classroom following the daily activity and academic schedule with accommodations specialized for each child’s needs. Staff in this position conduct one-on-one or small group instruction, perform classroom management, and complete daily data collection and documentation.
