Children’s Clinician – Augusta

Job description: Interested in making a difference in the lives of young children and their families? The Children’s Center is an early intervention and family support program for children ages birth through 21 years. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love working to support children in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

This clinical position provides clinical consultation for specialized services for children ages 3-5 years old and their families by providing direct family support through social work services and/or family therapy and center-based treatment programs . The Children’s Center provides Behavioral Health Day Treatment services at our 3 sites of Augusta, Farmington and Skowhegan for children ages 3-5 years old in a center-based setting. The position could potentially work at multiple sites and/or provide outpatient services at our Augusta site. For the right candidate we could discuss what would be a best fit for the candidate and the agency needs. Additionally, the Clinician will provide intensive therapy and support to children and families using a strengths-based outcome-oriented approach to include the following:

  • Develop therapeutic relationships with at-risk children and families.
  • Provide individual and family therapy using evidenced-based outcomes-oriented approaches.
  • Collaborate with other providers
  • Complete mental health assessments and individual treatment plans
  • Provide clinical supervision to Behavioral Health Professionals
  • Participation in clinical reviews, team meetings and trainings.

This position offers flexibility with options for both in person and remote work.
A Master’s degree in human services, social work, counseling, or psychology and Maine licensure required (LCPC, LMSW-cc, LCSW preferred). The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and have strong oral and written communication skills. Position requires excellent time management, clinical, and program management skills.

Special Purpose Private School Teacher – Augusta

The Children’s Center is currently hiring Special Purpose Private School Teachers for year-round, academic year, and Summer 2026 substitute positions.

Interested in making a difference in the lives of young elementary school age children? The Children’s Center is seeking a Special Purpose Private School Teacher to work one on one with children in grades K-3 who are not yet ready to enter public school. Daily activities are focused on their behavioral and communication needs, independence skills, and academic goals specialized for each child in accordance with their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.

The Special Purpose Private School Teacher will work with a Master’s level Clinician and Special Education team in the classroom following the daily activity and academic schedule with accommodations specialized for each child’s needs. Staff in this position conduct one-on-one or small group instruction, perform classroom management, and complete daily data collection and documentation.

Children’s Center provides BHP training, CPR/First Aid and Safety Care certification, and Master’s level clinical supervision.

Compensation: starting at $20.75/hr
